Was really impacted by a blog post written by Pr. Andrew Alleyne.
Are churches really ready for the day the prostitute walks into church after she just finished her night shift? Or when the back of the church smells like weed because broken people are coming in through the doors? Or the day when they can’t leave their purse on their seat during worship because that visitor might just steal their wallet? When we preach this message of unconditional love do we live it when people step through our doors? - Pr. Andrew Alleyne
This is only an abstract that I'd extracted from his post which really touched my heart.
Indeed, as a follower of Christ, are we practicing His teaching or merely living as a Christian by name?
By His Grace through faith that we are saved.
Our sins are cleansed by His blood.
But what is the thing that we have been doing?
Have you been shining well in the place where He has placed you in?
Are you still being easily agitated for some known or unknown reason?
Do you still stereotype people that you met in your life?
Not talking about anybody but myself.
I feel sorry and shameful on the things I'd been doing in my life.
Living as a Christian by name, not by faith.
All these while, yes, I am actively involved and participating in events and also ministry in church.
But not living the teachings and commandments of our Abba Father will not have much impact, not to mention, breakthroughs in life.
Yes, His love is unconditional, but this doesn't mean that we can take it for granted.
All these while I have been taking Him for granted.
"aiya~ He will forgives me one lah since He is a forgiving God."
"aiya~ He will understands me one lah since He is an understanding God."
Yes and yes, He still does loves you a lot even if you have decided to make decisions which will hurt Him.
He will always still be there, ready to catch you, ready to pick you up, ready to back you up whenever you are falling/failing/in pain.
It is time for us to re-evaluate ourselves.
Re-evaluate our walk in Christian faith.
Have you been communicating well with our dear Daddy God?
Have you been listening to Him well?
Have you been practicing/doing what He has told you to do?
